About Event
Independence is a virtual, two-day event held around Nigeria's Independence Day, built on two ideas: celebrating the country's independence and giving people who are actually building something a real push toward their own.
Day One (October 1) is open to everyone. It opens with an interactive celebration of Nigeria, including a session that tackles the myths people outside the country still believe about us, speaker slots for people attendees can relate to, live games with real rewards, and a giveaways segment. The day closes with a relaxed virtual movie night.
Day Two (October 2) is smaller and quieter: a business and project support panel for people actively building something. Not a pitch stage, a real conversation about what's working, what's stuck, and where support can help.
Everything streams live on Google Meet (capped at 90 interactive seats) and YouTube (open to everyone). Registration is free. Contributions - money, products, time, or a speaking slot - are welcome from individuals and small businesses who want to support other people's progress. Big brands are welcome too, but they're not who this is built around.
